Junior registration for 2023

Updated: Jan 29, 2023

Registration for the Blackheath junior section in 2023 is now at an advanced stage. For details of plans for the new season (including the winter training programme where applicable), see the Boys, Girls and Minis pages of the website. For details of what to do if you are (a) an existing member, (b) currently on one of our waiting lists, or (c) not yet a member or on a waiting list but interested in joining, scroll down to the relevant section below.

Existing members’ priority window

The existing members’ priority window ended on SATURDAY 7TH JANUARY 2023. Since then we have been contating those on waiting lists for the relevant squads and offering available places.

If your child was a member in 2022 and you intended to register them again for 2023 but failed to do so before the end of the priority window, please contact Nick Harrison (nharrison@serlecourt.co.uk) to find out if there is still space in the relevant squad.

Please also note that this year those wanting to do winter training need to sign up for that separately: see below. Numbers for these sessions are strictly limited and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Subscriptions

After several years during which we have not changed subscriptions, in the coming year the club faces substantially increased costs, and there is therefore an increase in the subs for most squads in 2023. However, we have held subs for the youngest boys’ and girls’ age groups unchanged. In addition, in 2023 our Minis will be a combined boys’ and girls’ squad with slightly shorter training sessions and the sub for this squad has been reduced to just £60.

We think our subs generally remain very good value given the high quality of facilities and professional coaching we offer. However, if there are any members who in these difficult times face real issues of affordability, they should contact our treasurer, Richard Brocksom (richardbrocksom@btinternet.com) to discuss their position.

Procedure for re-registering an existing member

As usual, registration is done online from the club website and can be done on your pc, tablet or smartphone. Click on “Members” and log in with either your Username or Email Address. If you don't remember the Password click, "Forgot Password" and follow the instructions. Once logged in you should see a list of your family under “You and Your Family”. Click on the relevant child and then click "Register Now" to begin.

You will find that all the information that you input last year is still stored, so the process should be very quick. However, we ask you to review the information we hold for you, make sure the details are correct and give the necessary consents. Please remember that your registration is not complete until payment has been made.

Existing members adding a child to the waiting list

If you have a child who is an existing member, but would like to sign up a sibling for the first time, this has to be done through the waiting list: log in as above, click on “Add Junior” and follow the prompts.

Winter training

Our winter training programme for both boys (U8 and older) and girls (U10 and older) is now underway. All sessions will be run either by members of the Matchfit team of professional coaches or (in the case of the U12 boys) by Chris Poil, and are mostly on Friday evenings: see the winter coaching page of the website for a summary of all the sessions.

If you would like to sign up for these sessions, then once you have re-registered for 2023, then go to the relevant page of the website (Boys or Girls) click on the link for the sessions you want to book at the bottom of the page and follow the prompts. Because of limited availability of suitable indoor facilities, numbers for each junior winter coaching session are limited to an average of 12 per squad, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Those already on our waiting lists

As explained above, the process of offering places to those on waiting lists is now underway. If you have not yet heard from us with an offer of a place, there is nothing you need to do for now – we will contact you with news of available places just as soon as we can. If however you are no longer interested in a place, please let us know so we can remove you from our list.

Joining the appropriate waiting list if you are new to the club

If you’re new to the club and your child is not currently on any of our waiting lists, putting their name on the appropriate list is very straightforward: just click on this link and follow the prompts.

There are currently still spaces available for 2023 in the youngest squads (Minis, boys U7s and girls U7s-U9s). As regards other squads, the length of the waiting list varies, but we are normally able to offer at least a few places to new players in every squad and the sooner you put your child on the waiting list, the better the chance of a place.
