Boys' Cricket
In the 2026 season we will be running separate boys’ squads at every year group from U8 up to 15 plus U17 and U19 teams (younger boys can join our Minis squad, which is for both boys and girls). Boys in the U14 squad and older are also welcome to play senior cricket and train alongside the Men. Average squad size at each age group is around 25-30 and although most of them currently have waiting lists we always try to accommodate as many new members as we can.
Our cricket is inclusive, family-focused, and fun but we also set very high standards for our best young players, some of whom are in county squads. In 2026, nearly all of our boys’ teams will be playing in the top tier of the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship (SJCC), against the best teams in the county, although most have multiple teams in appropriate tiers of the SJCC, which means that every boy gets opportunities to play in matches. Though our U7s don't play league matches we organise occasional tournaments for them too, and some may get the opportunity to play in U8 games. The U10s and above play hardball cricket and the U9s and below generally play softball, although there is also an U9s hardball team.
Our boys’ coaching team is led by professional coaches Danny and Ronny Harrison, who have both worked extensively for Surrey Cricket. Danny and Ronny also offer individual coaching sessions and run holiday cricket camps through Matchfit Academy, a cricket academy closely associated with the club. They are supported by a large team of other young coaches. All coaching sessions are professionally run (usually by several of the coaching team), although some parents help out as administrators and also assist with the coaching and running matches.
