Blackheath Women Make Lord's Debut!
To misquote a very old joke "Excuse me, but what's the best way to get to Lord's Cricket Ground?" "Practice, practice, practice!". Or alternatively, "First join the Blackheath Women's squad... and then practice, practice, practice". Yesterday (17th April) Blackheath were invited to take part in a softball cricket showcase at lunchtime on the main ground at Lord’s, as part of MCC women’s day. Lots of fours and a six scored, plus wickets taken! Organised through the MCC connec

Nets Project 2026
The club’s existing 3 concrete and matting nets behind the pavilion were inaugurated in 2008 in memory of John MacDonald. Though most of our current members never knew John, those of us who did remember him as the “father” of Blackheath Cricket Club who, amongst other things, launched our original junior section. He was a highly enthusiastic coach of young players and always a great believer in net practice! Those nets have served us well over the past 18 years, during wh

Blackheath Jazz Night - A Report
Last Saturday (14th March) saw the first, hopefully of many, Jazz Nights at the Tangley Pavilion. Thanks to the skills and contacts of Blackheath's resident violinist and impresario Ralph Broadbent a small but very appreciative local audience was treated to some fabulous music making from a quartet of truly world class musicians who have played with everyone from Van Morrison to Quincy Jones to David Bowie, George Michael and even Cilla Black! (Almost) end of season round-up
Our double-winning T20 side, following their victory in the Stevens Cup Final Though there are still a couple of fixtures in the diary, autumn seems to have come early after a fabulous summer, and now seems a good moment to reflect on what has been a remarkable year for the club. It’s impossible to do justice to all that happened in a season in which our numerous senior and junior teams between them played several hundred matches, but here goes … Men’s cricket In a year
