Welcome to the new season at Blackheath, which is now upon us! The regular junior section training sessions start this week (for Girls’ squads on Thursday 16 April and for Minis’ and Boys’ squads on Friday 17 April). For U8 (Year 3) children and older, matches against other clubs start in May. Though most of our current members never knew John, those of us who did remember him as the “father” of Blackheath Cricket Club who, amongst other things, launched our original junior section. The process of registration for the Blackheath junior section has been ongoing since December 2025, and some squads are now full for the 2026 season. Last Saturday (14th March) saw the first, hopefully of many, Jazz Nights at the Tangley Pavilion.
