Men's Cricket

Saturday Cricket

We field 3 teams in the I’Anson League, currently with the 1st XI in Division 1, the 2nd XI in Division 3 and the 3rd XI in Division 5. We were I’Anson Division 1 champions in 2015, 2019 and 2023, and runners-up in 2020, 2021 and 2022.  Founded in Grayshott, Hampshire in January 1901, the league draws its member clubs from Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex and is believed to be the oldest continuously-operating village cricket league in England. Many of its members have fine village grounds, and all are within 45 minutes drive of Blackheath.

Sunday Cricket

We field at least one and sometimes two teams every Sunday during the season, playing a mixture of friendlies and "development" games that give our older juniors a taste of adult cricket.

The standard of opposition varies considerably, from friendly local rivals to strong wandering sides. This means that on Sundays we are able to accommodate cricketers of almost any standard, and we take pride in the fact that everyone is welcome at Blackheath.
We also compete on alternate Sundays in the National Village Cup, and in 2019, 2020 and 2023 Blackheath were champions of the Surrey group.

Evening and Midweek Cricket

We play 20-over matches on some Tuesday evenings in the I'Anson Stevens Cup, which we won in 2018 and again in 2021. We also enter a team into the Surrey Slam playing 20-over matches on different midweek evenings.

There are also occasional longer midweek fixtures, including our annual Cricket Week in early August, the height of the club's social as well as cricketing calendar, when we entertain some excellent opposition, including the MCC.

Men's winter training for the 2024 season is on Sunday mornings from 10-11am at Cranleigh School, starting on 7 January. For further details and to sign up, see "Upcoming Fixtures & Events" below.
