Blackheath Women - a season to remember

Blackheath Women have enjoyed a remarkable first season in the Development Hardball League, making history by winning every game and being crowned league champions.

The achievement is even more impressive given that this was the first season playing hardball cricket for almost the entire squad, with many players experiencing the format for the very first time. Their rapid development, commitment and enthusiasm have been clear throughout the season, with the team demonstrating great skill, determination and a fantastic team spirit.

Alongside their success in hardball, the women’s side have continued to make their mark in the softball game, winning the Sunday Softball League and showcasing the continued growth and strength of women’s cricket at Blackheath Cricket Club.

Their progress is a fantastic reflection of the dedication of the players, coaches and volunteers who have helped build and support the women’s section. From new players picking up a hardball for the first time to competing successfully at league level, the season has highlighted the exciting future of women’s cricket at the club.

And that's not all! On Sunday 26th July they made it a hat trick of league trophies when they triumphed on finals day for the Midweek Softball League. Three competitions entered this season, champions in all three!
