Local Community
The club has a long tradition of supporting local charities and community events.
In the village of Blackheath, we have for many years helped run the annual May Fair, operating the main beer tent and various other stalls. In partnership with the Blackheath Village Society, we host the Blackheath Village Bonfire Night each year, and also provide the venue for other community events such as the village BBQ. At Grafham, we host an annual quiz night for local residents and regularly support St Andrew’s Church functions.

We are also happy to support other local charities, by hosting fundraising events or making our facilities available to them free of charge or at minimal cost. In 2025, events at Grafham included the Ukrainian Summer Festival and the Joanna Wildlife Hospital Open Day. Other charities and community groups who have used our facilities at Blackheath in recent times include Grassroots Suicide Prevention, Neighbours Welcome, Guildford Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre and Guildford Orienteers.
If you run a local charity or community group and are interested in using our facilities, please email the club secretary, Simon Jones, at blackheathjones@gmail.com.
