Beer tasting and curry evening

Updated: Nov 15, 2021

Note: This event was previously scheduled for 20 October 2021 but has been postponed.

On a date early in 2022 to be confirmed, The Official Military Beer Company will be visiting the club to host a tasting of their fine locally-brewed military beers. All members and village residents (and guests) are warmly invited.

Founder and CEO, Andrew McMorran will guide us through the beers and their military connections while we sample a battalion of bottles. The tasting includes a minimum 2 x 500ml bottles per person (or equivalent) and the bar will also be open for additional purchases.

The ticket price will be just £10 per person including a meal: there will be a choice of chicken and vegetarian curries.

The event also will be raising funds in aid of the Team Army Sports Foundation and other charities supporting soldiers and veterans whose service careers have been cut short through injury.

Further details and a link to the ticket buying page will appear when a new date for the event his confirmed.

About The Official Military Beer Company

The Official Military Beer Company is a new company partnering with small local breweries (notably the Crafty Brewing Co. in Dunsfold) and makes Pints with Purpose™ - premium craft beers for The British Army. The company brews delicious, award winning beers for regiments of the British Army, aiming to raise the standard of beer in the mess. For every bottle sold, the company donates 20% of its margin to the regiment’s charity to help their wounded recover from injury.

Each bottle label is inspired by the colours, history and battle honours of each regiment. So far, the company has been commissioned by royal corps and regiments including The Royal Artillery, The Royal Engineers, The Royal Signals, The REME, The Army Air Corps and The King’s Royal Hussars - which together make up over 60% of the British Army. The beers are now shipped to royal residences (being homes to many Colonels-in-Chief) and from Salisbury Plain to the distant army outpost of The Falkland Islands.

All the OMBC’s regimental beers are now available online to the general public. For more about the company see www.officialmilitarybeer.co.uk, where it is also possible to order regimental beers directly from the online shop.
