The upcoming week (Monday 2nd to Friday 6th August) is cricket week at Blackheath with matches each day, and we welcome back all our traditional opponents, including the MCC on the Friday.
The bar will be open each day and there will be a home-cooked supper in the pavilion and/or marquee each evening, at a cost of £10 per head. Further details of the matches, bar timings and the evening menus for the week are set out below.
As always all members and Blackheath village residents are warmly invited to come up, enjoy the matches and the evening meals at the club. It is not necessary to book for the evening meals, but if you are intending to come and would like to reserve a meal please notify our Pavilion Manager, Kate Bendy (kate.bendy@icloud.com) in advance so we have an idea of numbers.
For the duration of the week, for the first time since 2019, we will also be providing teas at the club for players and officials. These will be served at tables in the marquee or pavilion at the appropriate break in each match. Teas will also be available for supporters at modest cost, but supporters who would like teas are again asked to notify Kate Bendy in advance to assist with numbers.
For the two all-day games, lunch is provided for the teams and officials in the marquee. Lunch is not generally provided for supporters, although as in past years we are catering for supporters of the Kongonis on the Wednesday and if there are Blackheath members who would also like lunch either on that day or the Friday please tell Kate Bendy and it may be possible to add you to the list.
In most respects, this will be a normal cricket week, though we do urge everyone to exercise common sense to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission, especially if the pavilion becomes crowded: see the updated guidance to members and guests at this link.
