Hot on the heels of Scoot Theatre's highly enjoyable outdoor Shakespeare last Saturday, Blackheath's mini cultural festival continues this weekend with an outdoor live concert at the club by the amazing STRINGFEVER on Sunday 12 September at 5pm.
Composed of three Broadbent brothers and a cousin, this internationally acclaimed electric string quartet has performed 1000+ shows in thirty-three countries since 2004, from private performances for the British Royal Family to a packed audience at Madison Square Gardens. However, there is also strong local connection as one of the brothers, Ralph, lives in Blackheath and he and Elspeth had their wedding reception at Blackheath Cricket Club!
Stringfever combine classy musicianship, comedy timing and contemporary sound. Their selections are little bit classical, a little bit rock and roll, humorous and a whole lot entertaining. For a little taste, watch the CONCERT TRAILER.
“Their mix of music and comedy is so potent” – Paul Merton
"It was brilliant, breathless stuff, spot on classically honed musicianship wrapped in style and humour” - Chichester Observer
The Blackheath Stringfever concert will start at 5pm and finish at around 7pm. It will be an outdoor event against the backdrop of the pavilion, so bring a chair or picnic blanket, sit back and enjoy a concert like no other! Tickets are just £15 for adults, £10 for U18s and £40 for a family (2 adults and 3 kids).
The bar will be open from 4pm until the show starts, during the interval and again afterwards and there will be some children's entertainment (including face painting, tin can alley etc) beforehand as well. There will also be food available - including a BBQ afterwards - so please stay on and eat at the club and make an evening of it.
