It's just a few weeks now until the junior season gets going at Blackheath. Pretty much all the information you need is already on the website, but here's a quick run-down on the coaching timetable ...
Holiday camp
Things kick off in the week immediately before Easter (Monday 11 to Friday 15 April).
In the mornings of that week there is a holiday cricket camp at Blackheath for boys and girls in the U16-U13 age groups (School Years 1-8). Most of the tickets for that have already been sold, but there are still a few available at this link: Easter Holiday Cricket Camp.
Pre-season coaching sessions
In the afternoons of the same week (Monday 11 to Thursday 14 April) there are also pre-season training sessions for the older squads at Blackheath. Each squad will have either 2 sessions of 2 hours, or 2 sessions of 90 minutes, run by our team of professional coaches with a maximum of 8 boys or girls per coach. These sessions are not part of the regular coaching programme covered by annual subscriptions, which starts the following week, but we strongly encourage you to do them if you can. U10-U9 boys pre-season, U8 boys pre-season: Wed 13 and Thurs 14 April 2pm-3.30pm each day (£25)
U12-U11 boys pre-season: Mon 11 and Tues 12 April 2pm - 4pm each day (£35)
U14-U13 boys pre-season: Wed 13 and Thurs 14 April 4pm-6pm each day (£35)
U14-U10 girls pre-season: Mon 11 and Tues 12 April 4.30pm-6.30pm each day (£35)
Regular coaching sessions
The regular coaching programme for all squads starts immediately after Easter, so the first sessions are on Tuesday 19, Wednesday, 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 April, depending on your squad. The full timetable is as follows:
U6 boys: Fridays 4-5pm (Blackheath)
U7-U9 boys: Fridays 5.15-6.15pm (Blackheath)
U10 boys: Tuesdays 4.45-6pm (Grafham)
U11-U12 boys: Fridays 6.30-8pm (Blackheath)
U13 boys: Tuesdays 6.30-8pm (Grafham)
U14 boys: Wednesdays 6.30-8pm (Blackheath)
U6-U11girls: Thursdays 4.45-6pm (Grafham)
U12-U14 girls: Thursdays 6.30-8pm (Grafham)
Further details of the arrangements for those coaching sessions, including in particular Friday evenings at Blackheath (which can be very busy) will be circulated nearer the time.
Matches
Provisional league fixtures for all the junior squads have now been published and can be seen on Teamtamer, although at this stage they are still subject to change. Once the league fixtures have been finalised, there may be additional friendly fixtures arranged for some squads, where it is necessary to ensure that everyone gets their fair share of games. League fixtures generally start in early May, although there may well be some warm-up games in late April.
Registration
Except for our entry year (U6s) where there is still plenty of space, all our boys' squads are now either at or close to capacity, although there are some squads where we can still squeeze in one or two more. There is currently still available space in all our girls squads, although some of those are also now close to capacity. If you were a member last year and were intending to re-register but have not yet done so, please check that there is still space before attempting to sign up.
